The Ministry for Civil Defence and Emergency Management has lifted the Marine and Beach tsunami threat warning for Taranaki and the rest of New Zealand following this morning M7.8 earthquake in the Solomon Islands.
However, Taranaki people are still urged to exercise caution when in or near coastal waters. There could still be strong and unusual currents for the rest of the day.
