For evacuations

If you need to evacuate your house in an emergency, it is best if you can stay with friends or family. Make sure you have a Getaway Kit organised and discuss where you and your family will meet in an emergency.

Have a Getaway Kit

In some emergencies you may need to evacuate in a hurry. Everyone should have a packed getaway kit in an easily accessible place at home and at work. Click here to see what you need in your Getaway Kit.

Civil Defence Centres

If you need to evacuate in an emergency, but are unable to stay with friends or family, you can go to a Civil Defence Centre which can provide assistance and information.

Centres will only be opened during an emergency as required.  Listen to any of the local radio stations for information about which centres are open.
